The K9 Helm CS1-A2 GoggleHelm is a modular tactical headgear system developed for military and law enforcement working dogs. Made in the USA, it combines an injection-molded polycarbonate shell with wraparound ballistic-spec eyewear, adjustable interior padding, and mounting points for compatible accessories.

K9 Helm CS1-A2 GoggleHelm
Developed from a U.S. Army working-dog equipment project completed in 2022, the CS1-A2 GoggleHelm builds on K9 Helm’s original Cranial System-One platform. The current version uses an injection-molded polycarbonate shell and incorporates protective eyewear, an adjustable retention system, and mounting hardware for compatible accessories.
Wraparound Lens System
The CS1-A2 features a clear polycarbonate lens providing full-spectrum UV400 protection. The lens is designed to meet or exceed the following U.S. military ballistic eyewear specifications:
- MIL-PRF-31013
- MIL-V-43511C
- Test projectile: 0.15-caliber chisel point at 750+ fps
Clear lenses support visibility across different lighting conditions while maintaining UV protection.
Each GoggleHelm includes one installed lens and one spare lens, each supplied with a microfiber drawstring pouch.
Adjustable Interior Padding
The CS1-A2 uses closed-cell EVA foam padding with hook-and-loop-compatible backing.
The padding system includes:
- Molded top-of-head pad with antimicrobial fabric covering
- Wraparound padding inside the goggle frame
- Three sets of side spacer pads for different head widths
- Five peel-and-stick spacers for additional cushioning around the goggle frame and nose bridge
The EVA foam does not absorb water, making it suitable for demanding working environments.
Helmet Construction and Accessory Compatibility
The CS1-A2 incorporates 6061 aluminum mounting plates for compatible detachable muzzles, a low-profile top accessory rail, and an internally routed Biothane retention collar.
Compatible EC1 Ear Covers and the CS1-A2 OEM Leather Agitation Muzzle are available separately.

The storage bag includes padded panels, a mesh bottom, and a clear sleeve for identification. It accommodates the helmet with ear covers installed and may accommodate an attached muzzle, depending on the model.
Sizing and Fit
The CS1-A2 is designed specifically for average-size Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, and German Shepherds. It is not intended for other breeds.
Best fit:
- Neck circumference: 38–47 cm
- Cranial width: W3–W4, according to K9 Helm sizing templates
Proper fit must be confirmed using the manufacturer’s head-width, head-length, snout-width, and neck measurements.
