Tether Backtie

The Kirby K9 Tether Backtie, like so many products we sell or manufacture, was spawned from using something else, and applying it to K9 training. The Tether Backtie was developed after our owner, Josh Kirby was whitetail hunting from a tree and suspended in his harness with an adjustable tether. It was then, that he had the idea to use the same technology from the climbing, hunting, and arborist world and use it as an adjustable backtie for dog training. Since then, Josh has used the Tether Backtie system at decoy courses all over the U.S. and has found it to be an incredible safe, secure, and adjustable system that decoys can travel with and use with just about any backtie anchor.

The Tether Backtie utilizes an ascender for lightning fast length adjustments which is ideal when working multiple dogs on a back tie system such as a post or table. The adjustable length makes it very easy to set the dog’s depth in the back tie exactly where the decoy needs it. Adjustments can be made at any time, even while working a grip. The ascender is a Kong Duck Ascender and is paired with two climbing rated Kong locking carabiners for safety. The rope is Sterling HTP 9mm which is made in the USA for the rock climbing community.
